Welcome to the our projects and programs, where we highlight the key programs Anikana Foundation is actively implementing in communities across Uganda. This section provides brief progress reports on each project, showing what we are doing, where we are working and the impact each initiative is making. Our focus is to present clear “project only” information that reflects our mission to empower women, youth and vulnerable groups through practical and sustainable interventions.

Women,Youth and Teenage Mother Empowerment and Skills Training Project

These projects have enabled women, youth an teenage mothers especially school dropouts, single mothers and those living in vulnerable conditions to gain marketable skills and build sustainable livelihoods. Many beneficiaries have already started small businesses, increased their household income and regained confidence in their ability to support their families.
Our team continues to expand this program into more communities, ensuring that women, youth and teenage mothers are not only trained but also connected to mentorship, support networks and market access opportunities.
The projects include:

Participants acquire technical and entrepreneurial skills to manufacture and sell fire-less cookers in their communities. The project supports both livelihood improvement and sustainable environment practice.
7.Tailoring and Hair Dressing
Tailoring and hair styling are two creative skills that play an important role in personal expression and economic empowerment. Tailoring transforms simple fabric into well-fitted clothing that boosts confidence and comfort. From measuring and cutting to stitching and finishing, tailoring teaches patience, precision, and problem-solving. It also opens doors to income generation through making, repairing, or customizing clothes for clients.
Hair styling, on the other hand, focuses on enhancing a person’s appearance through grooming, cutting, braiding, and creative design. It requires skill, hygiene, and an understanding of different hair types. With just basic tools and training, young people can build a sustainable livelihood, whether working in a salon, offering mobile services, or starting a small business from home.
Both tailoring and hair styling empower individuals, especially women and youth, to become self-reliant. These skills build confidence, creativity, and financial independence, making them valuable pathways for both personal growth and community development.
8. Sustainable Agriculture
The sustainable Agriculture project teaches community members modern, environmentally friendly farming methods that improve food production and household income. Training includes crop management, soil care, organic farming and small-scale agribusiness practices.
This project enhances food security and economic resilience especially among rural families. Beneficiaries learn how to grow nutritious food, reduce waste and create income from small plots of land.
One-Acre Farming at Anikana Foundation: Maximizing Small Spaces for Big Impact
At Anikana Foundation, one-acre farming is taught as an innovative and practical approach to agriculture that helps communities make the most of small pieces of land. This model focuses on efficient planning, smart crop selection, and sustainable soil management to ensure that even a single acre can produce enough food for both consumption and income generation.
Learners are guided through each step from preparing the land and choosing high-yield crops to managing pests organically and practicing water-saving techniques. The training emphasizes sustainability, showing farmers how to increase productivity while protecting the environment.
By empowering individuals with these skills, Anikana Foundation helps families improve their food security, reduce dependency, and build resilience. One-acre farming proves that with the right knowledge, even limited land can create meaningful change in households and communities.
Value Addition in Agriculture: Turning Produce Into Profitable Products
At Anikana Foundation, our Value Addition project empowers farmers and youth to transform raw agricultural produce into high-value products that can earn more income and reduce post-harvest losses.
Through practical training, participants learn how to process items like coffee and potatoes into market-ready products such as coffee powder and potato flour. These skills help farmers extend the shelf life of their crops, improve quality and access better market.
Value addition increases profitability, supports local entrepreneurship and strengthens the community food systems. By equipping people with these production and packaging techniques, the project is creating new economic opportunities and encouraging innovative agribusiness solutions within the community. We make potato kawa, okrah kawa thus value addition of the crops since they are turned from food crops to cash crops.
In conclusion, our skills training programs are transforming lives by equipping women, youth and vulnerable community members with practical abilities that open doors to income, stability and self-reliance. With your support we can reach more communities, expand our training centers and provide the tools and materials needed for sustainable impact.
We invite you to partner with us through a donation, together, we can empower more people with the skills they need to build stronger and brighter futures.

Changing Futures: Charity Through Sponsorship and Scholastic Support at Anikana Foundation
At Anikana Foundation, we believe that education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty and empowering the next generation. Through our Charity Program, we focus on two key areas that directly impact vulnerable children and youth:
- Sponsorship Opportunities
- The provision of scholastic materials
Together, these efforts ensures that every child regardless of their background has the chance to learn, grow and succeed.
1. Sponsorship: Opening Doors to Education and Opportunity
Many children in undeserved communities struggle to stay in school due to financial challenges. School fees, uniforms, meals and basic learning needs can be overwhelming for families already facing hardship. Our Sponsorship Program steps in to bridge this gap.
Through sponsorship, generous partners help provide:
- School fees and tuition support
- Uniforms and shoes
- Meals or lunch packages
- Transport assistance for long-distance learners
- Access to mentorship and guidance
Sponsorship is more than financial-support, it’s an investment in a child’s future. It gives them the stability and confidence to pursue their education and dream beyond their limitations.
2. Provision of Scholastic Materials: Equipping Learners for Success
Many learners attend school without the basic tools they need. Something as simple as a notebook, pen or a textbook can make a significant difference in academic performance and motivation.
Anikana Foundation addresses this need through the distribution of scholastic materials including:
- Books, pens and pencils
- Mathematical sets and learning tools
- Backpacks and schoolbags
- Reusable sanitary pads for teenage girls to support school attendance
These items may seem small but they are essential building blocks for a positive learning experience. By providing these materials, we help learners stay focused, confident and well-prepared for school.
Why This Charity Work Matters?
Education should never be a privilege, it should be a right. Unfortunately, many children are forced to drop out due to lack of support. The combined impact of sponsorship and scholastic material provision ensures that vulnerable learners stay in school and continue pursuing their dreams.
Every child supported becomes a potential leader, innovator or change-maker in their community.
Be Part of The Transformation:
Your contribution can make a lasting difference in a child’s life. Whether you choose to sponsor a learner or donate scholastic materials, you become part of a mission that shapes brighter futures.
Partner with Anikana Foundation today. Together, we can keep children in school, inspire hope and transform communities through education.
